With the full list of players released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), a 14-year-old prodigy along with a 42-year-old veteran have made the cut to be part of the 2025 Mega Auction for the Indian Premier League.

Youngest Player in IPL 2025 Mega- uction: Vaibhav Suryavanshi (14)
14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has created headlines as his name was among those who have registered themselves for the upcoming mega auction.
In January 2024, he made his first-class debut at just 13 years old for the state of Bihar in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group B clash against Mumbai.
Suryavanshi also lit up the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai to strike a fantastic century for India’s U19 side who took on Australia’s U19 team in a youth Test. The youngster ended his knock at 104 runs in 62 deliveries. He also became the youngest ever to score a century in the youth Test format.
In addition to this, he also becomes the second fastest centurion in the youth Test format and also the fastest ton by an Indian in the format. In the full list of players released by the BCCI for the auction, he is the 491st name under the 68th set.

At 42 years old, the legendary English pacer, James Anderson becomes the oldest player to have been named in the list of players that will go under the hammer.
The English veteran, who recently retired from international cricket is looking to make his first steps in the IPL. He still believes that he has more to give as a player and hopes that he can get a chance to play in the tournament, to learn more about the shortest format of the game.
With vast experience playing in the longest format of the game, it will be interesting to see who will go for the services of the Englishman.
Anderson finds himself amongst the greatest bowlers of all time as he finished with 704 wickets to finish as the highest wicket-taker amongst fast-bowlers and the third highest-wicket-taker ever, behind the likes of Shane Warne (708) and Muttiah Muralitharan (800).
