Sunrisers Hyderabad started off their IPL 2025 campaign with an absolute bang in historic fashion, clobbering the Rajasthan Royals for a whopping 286 runs in the first innings of their season opener in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Powered by a sizzling century from new recruit Ishan Kishan, and a fiery outing from Travis Head as well, the Hyderabad franchise completely dominated the hapless Royals, who had no answer for the home team.
In the end, SRH sealed the deal with a swift four from Kishan, who ended his outing with an unbeaten 106* while SRH registered 286 runs: just one run short of the highest-ever total set in IPL history.
Back in IPL 2024, SRH batters not only set the record for the highest-ever total in IPL and franchise cricket history but broke their record with yet another jaw-dropping display of power hitting, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
SRH batters ransacked 287 runs against a helpless Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowling attack on Monday after their 277-run effort against Mumbai Indians almost a year to the day, thus bettering their record for the highest-ever total in IPL and franchise league history.
