Indian Premier League outfit Chennai Super Kings managed to bring back former player Sam Curran to their fold at the IPL 2025 Auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Monday.

The five-time winners shelled out Rs 2.4 Crore to rope in the 26-year-old English all-rounder, who had represented the side from Chennai in the 2020 and 2021 campaigns.

CSK have picked up multiple Chennai old boys, including hometown hero Ravichandran Ashwin, at the 2025 Auction as the Indian all-rounder was paid just shy of the 10 Crore mark.

They also managed to buy back the Kiwi duo of Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra at Rs 6.25 Crore and Rs 4 Crore, while also managing to add Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad to their unit for the price of Rs 10 Crore.

Stephen Fleming and Co. also priced away Indian seamer Khaleel Ahmed and batter Rahul Tripathi.

The side from the Tamil Nadu capital also paid Rs 1.2 Crore for the acquisition of Vijay Shankar’s services in another homecoming.

On Day 1 of the IPL Auction 2025, Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant grabbed all the headlines with his Rs 27 Crore purchase by Lucknow Super Giants, as he rewrote the list for the most expensive player in the Indin Premier League of all time after shattering the record held briefly by Shreyas Iyer, who went to Punjab Kings for Rs. 26.75 Crore shortly before Pant’s card came up.

Former LSG skipper KL Rahul was priced away by capital city side Delhi Capitals for a bargain buy of Rs 14 Crore.

Delhi had an incredible outing on Sunday as they managed to rope in Aussie quick Mitchell Starc, Indian pacer T Natarajan, English batter Harry Brook, Indian revelation Ashutosh Sharma, medium pacer Mohit Sharma, Sameer Rizvi and spinner Karun Nair on Sunday, while also using the RTM card on Jake Fraser-McGurk.

They also picked up South African batter and former CSK, RCB opener Faf Du Plessis on Monday at his base price of Rs 2 Crore.
