Most Expensive Players in IPL Auction 2025: As many as three players secured deals worth more than 20 crore, and two players were signed for Rs 18 crore each in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Most Expensive Players in IPL Auction: As many as 116 players went under the hammer during the IPL 2025 mega auction, which was held across two days in Jeddah. Like the previous five mega auctions, this time as well, franchises preferred to spend big bucks on signing quality Indian players. Three Indian players were signed for more than Rs 20 crore and two bagged deals worth Rs 18 crore.

Here’s a look at the 10 most expensive players in the IPL 2025 mega auction:

Rishabh Pant: Rs 27 crore (Lucknow Super Giants)

Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will play for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025. The 27-year-old cricketer, who made his IPL debut in 2016, was signed for Rs 27 crore by the Lucknow-based franchise on Day 1 of the mega auction. His former IPL team Delhi Capitals, was also interested in signing him back, and they tried to use RTM for him as well, but after LSG placed a final bid of Rs 27 crore, they decided not to match it. Pant has 3284 runs to his name in 111 IPL matches played so far.

Shreyas Iyer: Rs 26.75 crore (Punjab Kings)

Shreyas Iyer, who led KKR to the IPL 2024 title win, will play for the Punjab Kings in the 2025 edition of the world’s richest franchise cricket league. The 29-year-old right-handed batter was signed for Rs 26.75 crore by PBKS on Sunday (November 24). Iyer has 3127 runs to his name in 116 IPL matches played so far for Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders. Iyer is expected to lead PBKS in IPL 2025.

Venkatesh Iyer: Rs 23.75 crore (Kolkata Knight Riders)

Madhya Pradesh all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer was signed for Rs 23.75 crore by his IPL 2024 team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Iyer made his IPL debut in 2021 for KKR and since then has scored 1326 runs and picked up three wickets in 51 matches for the franchise. In the 2024 edition of the IPL, he scored 370 runs in 15 matches.

Arshdeep Singh: Rs 18 crore (Punjab Kings)

Punjab Kings used an RTM card to sign star Indian left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh for Rs 18 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. He was the first player to go under the hammer, and the way he has performed for India in T20Is since making his debut in July 2022, there was no doubt that Arshdeep will bag a bumper deal. In 65 IPL matches played so far since making his debut in 2019, Arshdeep has 76 wickets to his name.

Yuzvendra Chahal: Rs 18 crore (Punjab Kings)

Yuzvendra Chahal is India’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is, and he also holds the record for taking most wickets in the IPL. He is the only bowler to dismiss more than 200 batters in the cash-rich league. PBKS managed to sign Chahal for Rs 18 crore after getting engaged in an intense bidding war with Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Jos Buttler: Rs 15.75 crore (Gujarat Titans)

IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans signed England’s white-ball captain Jos Buttler for Rs 15.75 crore on Day 1 of the mega auction. The 34-year-old right-handed batter, who has played for MI and RR in the cash-rich league, has 3582 runs in 107 IPL matches played so far. He won the Orange Cap in the 2022 season and has scored seven centuries so far in the cash-rich league.

KL Rahul: Rs 14 crore (Delhi Capitals)

Delhi Capitals signed former PBKS and LSG captain KL Rahul for Rs 14 crore in the mega auction. The 32-year-old right-handed batter, who has also played for RCB and SRH in the past, has scored 4683 runs in 132 IPL matches played so far. He is expected to captain the Delhi-based franchise in IPL 2025.

Trent Boult: Rs 12.50 crore (Mumbai Indians)

Mumbai Indians splashed Rs 12.50 crore to sign New Zealand pacer Trent Boult. The left-arm fast bowler has played for MI in the past and played a big role in the team’s title win in the 2020 season.

Jofra Archer: Rs 12.50 crore (Rajasthan Royals)

Star England fast bowler Jofra Archer will play for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL once again. The hero of England’s 2019 ODI World Cup title win was signed for Rs 12.50 crore by the Sanju Samson-led franchise on Sunday. Archer, who has dismissed 48 batters in 40 IPL matches played so far for two teams, won the MVP award in the 2020 season.

Josh Hazlewood: Rs 12.50 crore (Royal Challengers Bengaluru)

RCB signed Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood for Rs 12.50 crore on Sunday. The 33-year-old right-arm fast bowler has 35 wickets to his name in 27 IPL matches played so far. Apart from RCB, Hazlewood has also played for CSK in the IPL and won a title with them in the 2021 season.
