It’s the second consecutive year this marquee event is taking place at an overseas venue. The two-day auction held at the Abady Al Johar Arena, features a massive pool of 1,574 registered players, including 1,165 Indians and 409 from overseas.
The auction is pivotal for the IPL’s 10 franchises as they strategize for the next three-year cycle (2025–2027). Each team can field a squad of up to 25 players, with 204 slots up for grabs after the retention process finalized 46 players. High-profile retentions include Heinrich Klaasen (INR 23 crore, Sunrisers Hyderabad), Virat Kohli, and Nicholas Pooran (both INR 21 crore).
