One last time? Well, seems like ‘Thala’ MS Dhoni might be hinting at some big news, as the legendary former Indian skipper made his arrival in Chennai on Wednesday (February 26) carrying (or rather wearing) a seemingly encoded message ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025 in March.

‘Thala’ Dhoni’s love affair with the Chennai Super Kings has been a tale for the ages. But as the years continue to roll, the talisman wicketkeeper-batter seems more likely to finally hang up his boots and gloves once and for all.

Over the years, Dhoni has repeatedly faced speculation about his future in the Indian Premier League. Now, it seems he has hinted at the same with quite a clear message to his fans upon his arrival in Chennai.

CSK announced the arrival of their talisman ‘Thala’ in Chennai for the pre-season camps with a picture of Dhoni walking out of the airport, donning an encrypted message on his t-shirt.

But, upon closer inspection, it has been speculated that the message on Dhoni’s t-shirt spells out the message “ONE LAST TIME” in Morse Code.

The subtle foreshadowing has sent shockwaves among fans online, with many yet again speculating whether this truly may be the last ride for their legendary ‘Thala’.

Even Dhoni himself has talked about the difficulty he faced while gearing up to play in his 18th season of the Indian Premier League, admitting that it’s not easy to maintain peak fitness.

“I am not fit as I used to be, lot of efforts now needs to be there on what you are eating and I am doing very specific thing to be fit for cricket. We are not fast bowlers so our requirements are not that intense,” Dhoni stated earlier this year.

“What really helps me is playing a lot of sports in between eating and going to the gym. So whenever I get time I like to play a lot of different sports, may be tennis, badminton, football, that keeps me engaged. That’s the best way of being in touch with fitness,” he said.

Dhoni has retired from all forms of cricket except IPL.

Ahead of IPL 2024, he also stepped down as CSK captain with Rituraj Gaikwad succeeding him into the role. However, CSK didn’t qualify for the playoffs last year after finishing fifth on the points table.

Dhoni is one of the most successful captains in IPL history having won the title five times.

The IPL 2025 is scheduled to get underway from March 22 when defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders host Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens.
