Star India and Sunrisers Hyderabad wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan on Thursday met Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani, sharing a heartfelt moment with the latter, having been released by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction last year.

Ishan, who was with the Mumbai team for seven seasons before being released ahead of the IPL 2025 auction, was roped in by Hyderabad in a big-money step.

As the cricketers shook hands and started heading towards their respective dugouts after the match, Ishan walked towards Nita, greeting her with a warm smile. Take a look at the viral image:

Ishan was also spotted speaking to Pandya after the match.

On Thursday, Will Jacks had former MI player Ishan stumped for just two, even as all Hyderabad fans would have expected a big knock from the wicketkeeper against his old team.

Notably, Ishan’s performances have been shambolic to say the least. After scoring a match-winning hundred against the Rajasthan Royals in their opening match of IPL 2025, he has managed 0, 2, 2, 17, 9* and 2 and his poor scores have reflected on Hyderabad’s performance as well.

With his returns dwindling with every passing match and SRH managing just two wins from their seven games, they might look to replace Ishan with Ravichandran Smaran in the second half of the tournament.

Ishan has not had a great time since the end of 2023. He was dropped from the central contract, and his last appearance in the Indian jersey was in November 2023, in a T20I against Australia.

Ishan played in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Jharkhand, as mandated by BCCI, and scored 316 runs in seven matches at an average of 45.14 with one hundred to his name. With India travelling to Bangladesh for a white-ball series in August, it needs to be seen if Ishan finds a place in the squad.

With another cycle of central contracts to be announced by the end of next month, reports suggest that Ishan might miss out on the 2025-26 list as well.
