The incident took place during the 19th over of the DC innings of the IPL 2025 match currently underway at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Senior Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma lost his cool on Saturday (April 19) and was seen arguing with Delhi Capitals middle-order batter Ashutosh Sharma. The incident took place during the 19th over of DC’s innings of the ongoing IPL 2025 match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Ishant bowled three overs for the Shubman Gill-led side and picked up one wicket for three overs. He accounted for the dismissal of Donovan Ferreira on the fourth ball of the 19th over. Meanwhile, Ashutosh, after coming out to bat at No. 6 for the national capital-based franchise, scored 37 runs. During his stay at the crease, Ferreira faced 19 balls and hammered 2 fours and 3 sixes.
His impactful knock in the death overs helped DC post a total of 203 runs on the board for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Captain Axar Patel top-scored for Delhi Capitals against GT after Shubman Gill invited them to bat first. Axar scored 39 runs from 32 balls with the help of 1 four and two sixes. Karun Nair and Tristan Stubbs added 31 runs each to DC’s total.
For the hosts, Prasidh Krishna finished with figures of 4 for 41 in four overs. The four wickets on Saturday helped him extend his tally of wickets to 14 in seven IPL 2025 matches this season, and he now leads the Purple Cap race in the IPL this year.
Krishna has dismissed two more batters than CSK spinner Noor Ahmad and RCB pacer Josh Hazlewood, who are now second and third on the list with 12 wickets each to their name.
Ishant’s performance in IPL 2025
Ishant joined Gujarat Titans for Rs 75 lakh in the IPL 2025 mega auction. He made his IPL debut for the Ahmedabad-based franchise on March 29 against the Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium but was not able to take any wickets in his quota of two overs.
In the RCB-GT match played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 2, 2025, Ishant accounted for the dismissal of RCB captain Rajat Patidar (12) before being subbed off to make way for Sherfane Rutherford. The senior Indian pacer was dropped from the playing XI after his flop show against SRH before making a comeback again on Saturday.
