Mumbai Indians will face Chennai Super Kings in match No. 38 of the IPL 2025 on Sunday (April 20). The second clasico of the ongoing season is scheduled to take place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. On the eve of the high-voltage match at the iconic stadium in Mumbai, star Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah met MS Dhoni during the net session.
Dhoni’s IPL franchise CSK took to X to share the video of Bumrah marching towards Dhoni and sharing a warm hug with him, and in no time, the clip went viral on the internet.
Bumrah missed the first Clasico of the IPL 2025 season in Chennai due to a lower back injury, but he is all set to lead the MI pace attack on Sunday.
During the match between the two teams, Bumrah will have a chance to break Lasith Malinga’s record and become the all-time leading wicket-taker in the IPL for the Mumbai Indians. Malinga finished his IPL career with 170 wickets in 122 matches for MI, whereas Bumrah has accounted for the dismissal of 167 batters in 136 IPL matches played so far for the Mumbai-based franchise.
Bumrah missed the first four matches of the IPL this year for the Mumbai Indians but has impressed with his performances in the last three matches. He finished with figures of 1 for 21 in four overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday (April 17).
The match between MI and CSK is expected to be a high-voltage game, as like MI, CSK are coming into Sunday’s contest after securing a win in their last match against Lucknow Super Giants. In the match played between CSK and LSG at Ekana Stadium on Monday (April 14), Dhoni won the Player of the Match award, and he would like to come up with another big show on Sunday to seal the third win of the ongoing season for the Chennai-based franchise.
Dhoni, who is the most capped player in IPL history, will lead CSK against the Mumbai Indians on Sunday. The 43-year-old wicketkeeper-batter was appointed as CSK captain on April 10 after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the remainder of the season due to an elbow injury.
