Jasprit Bumrah was visibly frustrated with no swing on offer on the opening day of the Gabba Test.
It turned out to be a frustrating day for cricket fans, especially in India, who woke up early to see Rohit Sharma and company lock horns with Australia in the third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Brisbane. The first session’s play was deeply marred by incessant rain after India opted to bowl first. Only 13.2 overs could be bowled before the second round of heavy showers forced an early lunch. In fact, the pacers did not get the desired amount of swing under overcast conditions.
It was the fifth over when Jasprit Bumrah tried altering his length, attempting to move the ball and trouble the Australian openers. A few deliveries later, he realised that there was no swing on offer, irrespective of the area where he hit the deck.
“Nahi ho raha swing, kahin bhi kar (There is no swing no matter where you bowl),” Bumrah was heard over the stump microphone while heading to his bowling mark.
