Williamson, who suffered a groin injury during the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in Galle last month, will remain in New Zealand to continue working towards full fitness.
Star New Zealand batter and former captain Kane Williamson will miss the second Test of the ongoing three-match series against India. The 34-year-old right-handed batter, who is the all-time leading run scorer for New Zealand in Test cricket, missed the series opener as well, which the visitors won by 8 wickets in Bengaluru on Sunday (October 20).
Kane is yet to arrive in India for the ongoing red-ball series. According to a release by the New Zealand cricket board on Tuesday (October 22), Williamson will not be available for the second Test as he continues his rehabilitation from a groin strain.
