A big win over England in Karachi will help South Africa qualify for the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy 2025 and also finish as table toppers.
The South African team will come into Saturday’s match after defeating Afghanistan by 107 runs in the tournament opener played in Karachi on February 21, whereas its second match against Australia in Rawalpindi on February 25 was washed out due to rain.
On the other hand, the English team has lost both the matches played so far in the tournament. In the first match against Australia, England failed to defend the total of 351 runs, and in the second match, it could only score 317 runs against Afghanistan in the 326-run chase.
With two defeats from two matches played so far, England is out of the semifinal race.
