Karun Nair came out to bat at No. 3 for Delhi Capitals in the ongoing IPL 2025 match against Rajasthan Royals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi but was not able to open his account. He got involved in a misunderstanding with Abishek Porel, which led to his run out on the first ball of the fourth over of DC’s innings. After getting out for a three-ball duck in the 32nd match of IPL 2025, the 33-year-old batter was seen losing his cool and punching in frustration in the dressing room.
Several pictures and videos of Nair getting angry are now going viral on the internet.
Delhi Capitals team management and fans had high hopes from Nair on Wednesday (April 16), but he was not able to do anything with the bat against the inaugural edition winners.
DC post 188/5
Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson invited Delhi Capitals to bat first on Wednesday, and the home team rode on Porel’s 49, KL Rahul’s 38, Axar Patel’s 34 and Tristan Subbs’ 34 not out to post a total of 188 runs on the board for the loss of five wickets. For the Men in Pink, Jofra Archer finished with figures of 2 for 32 in four overs, and one DC batter each was sent back to the pavilion by the Sri Lankan spinner duo of Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga.
Nair’s knock vs MI
Nair played his first match of the IPL 2025 on Sunday (April 13) against the Mumbai Indians and scored 89 runs from 40 balls. But he was not able to help his side win the match against the Hardik Pandya-led side at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. He came in as an impact player during the 206-run chase and, during his stay at the crease, hammered 12 fours and 5 sixes. He crossed the 50-run mark in 22 balls and smacked MI bowlers to all corners of the ground.
He added 119 runs for the second wicket with Porel against the Mumbai Indians, but after Porel and his wicket, DC suffered a shocking batting collapse and went on to lose the match by 12 runs.
