The power couple, who tied the knot in 2023, recently made a surprise announcement of their first child, with a joint Instagram post last year.
That post showcased the design, with a protective evil eye symbol, golden stars and a message that read, “Our beautiful blessing is coming soon. 2025,” along with tiny footprints embodying the upcoming birth of the child.
The post, signed with “Athiya & Rahul,” gained the attention of social media users in no time.
Shetty and Rahul reportedly met in February 2019 through a mutual friend. In 2021, Rahul made their relationship official with a heartfelt Instagram post.
The Delhi Capitals batter was last seen in action in the fifth and final Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy played in Sydney earlier this month.
It was initially expected that Rahul would be a part of the Karnataka squad for the ongoing 2025 Ranji Trophy game against Punjab. But the 32-year-old is recovering from an elbow injury and has not been included in the squad.
Rahul was named in India’s ODI squad for the three-match series against England, scheduled to start on February 6 and the ICC Champions Trophy and is expected to return to action for it. His last ODI game came in August 2024 during the three-match series against Sri Lanka.
Rahul will solidify India’s batting line-up in the ODIs. The wicketkeeper-batter had an impressive outing at the 2023 ODI World Cup on home soil with 452 runs at an average of 75.33.
