It all transpired in the 16th over of the Rajasthan Royals’ 189-run chase, when a signal from KL Rahul gave Dhruv Jurel a massive cue.

A signal from India and Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul seemingly helped Dhruv Jurel survive a wicket decision against him, with a video showing how the former indicated that the ball didn’t hit Jurel’s leg but his arm, and soon, the Rajasthan wicketkeeper signalled for a DRS, eventually to survive.
Jurel took the cue from Rahul’s actions and went for the review. Replays showed that the ball hit his thigh and would go on to miss the stumps by some distance as it was a googly from Kuldeep Yadav. The decision was overturned, and Jurel survived.
As soon as Rahul signalled to Kuldeep, Jurel was seen doing the same to non-striker Nitish Rana before signalling for DRS. Watch the video here:
The reversed DRS decision could have been crucial for Rajasthan, only if they had taken their chances. Requiring just two runs off the last delivery off Mitchell Starc, he was run out for 26 off 17 while coming back for the second run.
Rajasthan managed only 11 runs from their Super Over after Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag smacked a four each before both were run out, ending the innings with a delivery to spare.
Requiring 12 to win, Rahul began with a two and then smacked a boundary before Tristan Stubbs finished off with a six on the fourth delivery from Sandeep Sharma.
Earlier, an in-form Rahul made 38 and put on a 63-run partnership with Abishek Porel. Axar then added 41 runs off 19 deliveries with Stubbs as the two smacked the ball to all parts of the Arun Jaitley Stadium, much to the delight of the home crowd as DC managed 77 runs from the last five overs.
Delhi play their next game against the Gujarat Titans on Saturday, April 19 in Ahmedabad. They are currently at the top of the points table, with 10 points from six games and a net run rate of 0.74, while Rajasthan lie eighth with just two wins from seven matches.
