In the two Tests of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Rohit Sharma has batted in the middle-order.
With KL Rahul impressing in the first Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy after opening alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma decided against splitting the pair and accepted a demotion in the batting order for the next two Tests held in Adelaide and Brisbane. However, Rohit, who skipped the Perth Test due to personal reasons, has managed just 19 runs from his three innings of the ongoing Australia tour while batting in the middle order.
Will Rohit return to open in the Melbourne Test in a bid to find some form? The India captain says he won’t discuss batting order in press conferences before adding that any decision that gives them the best chance to win will be taken.
“Let’s not worry about that,” Rohit said in response to a query over his possible batting spot. “I think who bats where is something that we need to figure out within ourselves. It’s not a thing which I should be discussing at every press conference where I’ll be batting. Whatever it takes for us to look good or gives us the best chance to succeed, we will try and do that.”
