From the very first Super Over in 2009 to last night’s thriller in New Delhi, let’s take a look at all the Super Overs that have taken place in the history of the IPL.

There’s nothing more thrilling than a Super Over in cricket. Heightened tensions, unforeseen twists and turns, overflowing emotions: it has it all.
Last night’s exhilarating Super Over between the Rajasthan Royals and the Delhi Capitals reminded us all of the very same, as it had every cricket fan on the edge of their seats, craving for more.

What could have been nothing more than a routine finish to a game ended up turning into a nightmare for RR, who slumped to a crushing defeat against DC, thanks to the exploits of one Mitchell Starc (who was aided by a plethora of puzzling plays from the Royals themselves).
While the DC-RR encounter might have been just the first Super Over of the IPL 2025, it is nowhere near the first in the history of the cash-rich IPL as a whole, which has now seen 15 Super Overs take place.
Out of the 15, DC have been involved in five (the most of any other team) and have won four (a record in itself). Others have included the likes of Mumbai Indians (who have won 4 out of 5 themselves) and Kolkata Knight Riders (who have lost 3 out of 4).
