The last season saw LSG winning seven matches and lose as many. They finished level on points – 14 – with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals. However, a poor net run-rate saw them finish seventh. The disappointing performance seems to have played a key role in the franchise parting ways with Rahul.
