Despite a lacklustre start in the first innings, Suthar was able to pick up seven wickets in the second innings to help India C in control as they went on to win the match by four wickets and a day’s play to spare.
The 22-year-old single-handedly cleaned up India D’s middle-order batting unit followed by the tail-enders to showcase his dominance in Indian conditions. By getting the wickets of set batters like Devdutt Padikkal and Ricky Bhui, India C was able to regain the momentum which turned out to be what they needed to take the win.
In the final innings, the southpaw also chipped in with 19 runs in 43 deliveries which included two boundaries and a maximum as he scored the winning runs for India C in the 61st over to give them the six points.
Suthar will look to continue his spin-bowling exploits as he continues to prove that he is one of Team India’s long-term plans by continuing to thrive in the domestic circuit and prove that he is among the top spinners within the country.
India C will play their second game of the tournament against India B in Anantapur once again where Suthar will be one of the players to watch out for as the conditions become more friendly for the spinners.
With six points in the bag, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side will be looking for another win to improve their chances of making it to the final where they stand a chance to win the tournament.
