Mitchell Starc was in no mood to give anything away after his blistering performance on the opening day of the Pink ball Test against India in Adelaide.

After ripping apart the Indian batting order, Mitchell Starc seemed to be in good spirits as he finished Day 1 of the pink ball Test against India with a six-wicket haul in Adelaide on Thursday.
Following the day’s play, Starc was asked by one of the journalists, at the press conference about India’s bowling performance on the opening day. The reporter asked if India missed the mark by going with their hit-the-deck approach rather than not taking advantage of the swing on offer with the pink ball. Starc was in no mood to give anything away and came up with a witty response to the question.
“I’m not their bowling coach,” said Starc with a cheeky smile on his face.
Australia’s left-arm pacer, was lethal with the pink ball as he used the swing to his advantage. He set the tone right from ball one, getting Yashasvi Jaiswal for a first-ball duck and the rest followed suit as India were bundled out for just 180 runs.
India’s bowling attack has failed to continue their solid performance as a collective from the opening Test in Perth. Marnus Labuschagne, who was under pressure for runs, managed to get to his fifty as the hosts edged closer to taking a first-innings lead.
Jasprit Bumrah has been India’s shining light so far, having taken the two wickets of Nathan McSweeney and Steve Smith in quick time at the start of Day 2. But the rest of the bowlers have missed their lengths. Interestingly Ravichandran Ashwin was called on fairly later on Day 2, a move that caught many by surprise.
India will hope that the bowling attack can find their mojo once again if they are to stand a chance of getting back into this contest and possibly extending their series lead. But Labuschagne’s knock coupled with Head’s quick runs are proving to be a massive nuisance to the side with India growing desperate to get rid of the two Australian batters.
Australia will be keen on bouncing back with a win in Adelaide to level the series and also stay in contention for winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, a feat the Aussies have not achieved for the past decade.
