Star fast bowler Mitchell Starc helped Australia get off to a flying start in the second Test against India, which got underway at the Adelaide Oval on Friday (December 6). The left-arm pacer trapped India’s highest-ranked Test batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal, in front of the wickets on the first ball of the day-night Test. It was Jaiswal’s second duck in the ongoing five-match Test series. He was dismissed for an eight-ball duck in the first innings of the first Test, which was played at Optus Stadium in Perth from November 22 to 25.

Jaiswal didn’t opt to take a review as well because the ball was clearly hitting the stumps, and after a short chat with KL Rahul, the left-handed batter returned to the pavilion.

The video of Jaiswal’s wicket on the first ball of the match is now going viral on the internet.

India had high hopes from Jaiswal in Adelaide after the left-handed batter scored 161 runs for India in the second innings of the first Test, which the visitors won by 295 runs inside four days, but he failed to live up to the expectations.

3 changes for India

Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss in the second Test and opted to bat first. India has made three changes to the playing XI for the second match of the series, which is a day-night affair and is being played with a pink ball. Apart from Rohit, who missed the series opener due to the birth of his second child, Shubman Gill and Ravichandran Ashwin are playing in the pink-ball Test.

Gill, who was not available for the Perth Test due to a thumb injury, replaced Devdutt Padikkal in the playing XI, and Ashwin was preferred by Indian team management ahead of Washington Sundar.

Australia has also made one change to the playing XI for the second Test of the series. In place of injured fast bowler Josh Hazlewood, Scott Boland is playing in Adelaide. Boland has played 10 Tests for Australia so far and managed to get rid of 35 batters.
