Mohammed Shami is playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025, and on Friday, April 25, he entered his name in the history books by becoming the first bowler in the world to take a wicket off the first ball of an innings in the IPL on four occasions. Shami opened the bowling attack for the Pat Cummins-led side on Friday against Chennai Super Kings at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, and on the first ball of the match, he dismissed Shaik Rasheed. The 20-year-old right-handed batter from Andhra Pradesh was caught by Abhishek Sharma for a golden duck in the first slip.
Shami, who was signed for Rs 10 crore by SRH in the IPL 2025 mega auction, has previously dismissed Jacques Kallis, KL Rahul and Phil Salt on the first ball of the innings of an IPL match.
