Star Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who is playing in IPL 2025 for Sunrisers Hyderabad, on Sunday received a death threat via e-mail.
According to reports, the 34-year-old cricketer from Amroha reportedly received a death threat via an email address from a man named Rajput Sindhar in which he demanded Rs 1 crore.
As per Hindi daily Amar Ujala, the email says Shami will be killed if the money demanded by them is not received. The report also says that Shami’s brother Mohammed Haseeb saw the email and informed SP of Amroha about the matter and submitted a complaint letter in which he demanded strict action. The email address reportedly came on May 4 in the evening.
The complaint by Amroha police was registered with the Cyber Cell, and Amar Ujala reported that the resident is believed to be from Karnataka, with his name said to be Prabhakar.
