The youngster is more excited to spend time with Dravid than the prospect of playing a game in the tournament.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is excited about his time in the Indian Premier League, where he will spend time under the coaching of Indian batting legend and T20 World Cup-winning coach Rahul Dravid. After being picked by the Rajasthan Royals in the 2025 mega auction, he will spend time under the coaching of Dravid.
The youngster is more excited to spend time with Dravid than the prospect of playing a game in the tournament. Despite the excitement, he will look to stick to his game and not let the spotlight get the better of him.
“I am really glad that I am getting a chance to play in the IPL. I am excited to play under Rahul Dravid sir, more than playing in the IPL, I am happy to play under him,” he shared in an interview with PTI Videos.
“I have no strategy as such for the IPL, I will just play the way I do,” he added.

Reflecting on India U19’s performance in the recently concluded ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup, Suryavanshi feels that the side can and would do better after losing out in the final against Bangladesh.
“We are determined to do better in future tournaments,” he commented.
The young cricketer also revealed that the support he has received from the Bihar Cricket Association and the State Chief Minister had also wished him the best going forward.
“The Bihar Cricket Association helped me a lot throughout my journey. Our president Rakesh sir helped me a lot and I want to thank them all,” he shared.
“The Bihar CM also wished me luck and blessed me for all my future endeavours. Going ahead in life, I want to represent India at the senior level in cricket,” he added.
The young star has already made his first-class debut for Bihar. In the U19 Asia Cup, he played five games scoring 176 runs at an average of 44, making him the seventh-highest run-scorer in the tournament.
He hopes his experience with the Royals can give him the platform to be the next big star in Indian cricket and the time with Dravid could be the spark that takes his game to the next level.
