The legendary MS Dhoni created history once again in the Indian Premier League with his stumping to dismiss Ayush Badoni in the match between Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings in Lucknow on Monday.
Dhoni became the first man to hit 200 dismissals in the tournament’s history. He already holds the record, having been well ahead of Dinesh Karthik, who is his closest competitor at 182 dismissals. The stand-in skipper reached the record thanks to his stumping to get rid of Ayush Badoni off Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling.
Interestingly, Rishabh Pant also finds himself on the list after making his debut in 2016. After almost a decade-long stint with the Delhi Capitals, where he was eventually promoted as the captain, the wicketkeeper-batter has found a new home in the Lucknow Super Giants and seems to have found his touch as a captain.
Speaking of Dhoni, he is currently leading the Chennai Super Kings for the rest of the season after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the season due to an elbow injury. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, CSK suffered a crushing loss at home against KKR and will look to bounce back against LSG.
