Mumbai Indians splurged a whopping Rs 75 crore to retain services of their five players who were part of their IPL 2024 squad.
MI’s Costliest Player in Retention List
MI have retained star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah for Rs 18 crore as their first retention. Bumrah is their costliest player in the retention list. The fast bowler has been associated with MI since IPL 2013 and is the second-leading wicket-taker in IPL history for them. In 2024 season, he played 13 matches and got rid of 20 batters.

MI’s Remaining Purse For IPL Mega Auction
After retaining five players from the IPL 2024 squad for Rs 75 crore, MI enter the IPL 2025 mega auction with a remaining purse of Rs 45 crore which they will be using to fill 20 vacant spots.
Where MI Finished In IPL 2024
MI played under the leadership of Hardik Pandya in IPL 2024 and could only manage to win four out of 14 league stage matches, because of which, with 8 points, they finished at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table.
