Here’s a look at the top performers and record holders in 112 Test matches played so far between New Zealand and England.
2021 World Test Championship winners New Zealand will face England in a three-match Test series that starts on Thursday (November 28). The series opener is scheduled to take place at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, and the next two matches will be played at Basin Reserve in Wellington (December 6-10) and Seddon Park in Hamilton from December 14-18.
After whitewashing India in a three-match Test series, Kiwis will be high on confidence, and they would like to maintain the good show against the Poms as well in the home series to keep its chances of qualifying for WTC 2025 alive. New Zealand will get knocked out of the WTC 2025 final race if they lose the series.
Former Test captain and star batter Kane Williamson is back in New Zealand’s squad after missing the India tour due to injury-related issues. The three-match series will be a special one for legendary pacer Tim Southee, who is set to retire from Test cricket at the end of the series.
England is coming into the away series after losing 1-2 against Pakistan last month. England is no longer in the race to qualify for the WTC 2025 final, but it can certainly end New Zealand’s chances.
