Star Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was on fire with the bat and ball in the recently concluded five-match Test series against Australia. The 21-year-old cricketer from Andhra Pradesh played in all five matches for the Indian team and, with the help of one century, scored 298 runs. The second-leading run scorer for India in the 2024-25 edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy also picked up five wickets in the series, which includes two in the first innings of the fifth Test played at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

After a memorable series in Australia, Reddy returned to India last week, and on Monday he visited Tirupati Temple. He took to Instagram stories to share a video of him climbing the stairs of the temple on his knees, and it is now going viral on the internet.

Nitish made his Test debut for India in Perth on November 22 and top-scored in the first innings. In the pink-ball Test as well, which was played from December 6 to 8 at Adelaide Oval, Nitish top-scored for India in both innings. His best performance with the bat was in the first innings of the Boxing Day Test, where he scored a century as a No. 8 batter for the Rohit Sharma-led side.

After a memorable series in Australia, Reddy took to Instagram to share a post on Monday morning that read, “From setting alarms to watch Test matches in Australia to gaining a firsthand sense of the Australian shores, the last two months have been nothing short of an opportunity to grow, as a player and a person too. Not the way we wanted to end the series. We’ll be back, tougher and stronger.”

Reddy, who is 21 years old, rose to prominence after his super show with the bat and ball in IPL 2024 for Sunrisers Hyderabad. After playing a big role in SRH’s run to the final of IPL last year, Reddy earned his maiden India call-up for a five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe in July. But due to injury, he missed the away series.

He made his international debut for India against Bangladesh during a T20I match played in Gwalior on October 6, 2024. In the second match of that series, he scored 74 runs from 34 balls as the No. 4 batter in Delhi and also picked up two wickets for 23 runs in his quota of four overs.

Reddy will next be seen in action for India in the five-match T20I series against England, which is set to start on January 22 in Kolkata.
