The third Test of the series, played between India and West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, ended up in a draw with both sides finishing with the scores levelled.
One of the most thrilling Test matches in the history of the game concluded as a draw on this day (November 26) in 2011. It was the third Test of the series played between India and West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
It was only for the second time in cricket history that a match finished as a draw with the scores level. The first such instance occurred in Bulawayo in 1996-97 in a game between England and Zimbabwe. Coming back to the Mumbai Test, chasing a target of 243, the hosts finished their second innings on 242.

India Vs West Indies 2011: Match Highlights
At one point, India needed just six runs to win the game, with three wickets in hand. But Ravi Rampaul and Fidel Edwards managed to thwart India from sealing a victory. Despite his inability to clinch a win for India, Ravichandran Ashwin was named Man of the Match and Man of the Series as well.
Riding on Darren Bravo’s fabulous knock of 166, West Indies posted a mammoth total of 590 in the first innings. Ravichandran Ashwin registered a five-wicket haul while Varun Aaron dismissed three West Indies players.
Ravichandran Ashwin continued his brilliance with the bat and scored a century in response. Ashwin’s 103 and Sachin Tendulkar’s 94 powered India to a solid total of 482. The second innings again witnessed some magical bowling by Ashwin who claimed four wickets to restrict the visitors to 134. Pragyan Ojha supported Ashwin by bagging six wickets in the second innings.
India did not have a fruitful start to their second innings with opening batter Gautam Gambhir being dismissed for 12. Other opening batter Virender Sehwag (60) went on to score a half-century. Coming down to bat at number six, Virat Kohli also proved his mettle and played a fine knock of 63.
Despite Virat Kohli and Virender Sehwag’s brilliance with the bat, Team India failed to score the winning runs. With two runs required off the final delivery of the Test, Ravichandran Ashwin managed to take a single. Ashwin did try to complete another run in a bid to claim a win but he was, eventually, run out on the final ball.
