It has been a decade since Indian captain Rohit Sharma produced the highest-ever score in ODI history. Known as an explosive opener, Rohit has shattered several individual batting records during his illustrious career of over 15 years. Glimpses of his insane run-scoring ability were on display during an ODI home series against Sri Lanka in 2014. Rohit appeared at his devastating best in the fourth match and struck 264 runs off just 173 deliveries.

With his blistering show, Rohit surpassed Virender Sehwag (219) to claim the record for the highest individual runs in an ODI innings. The game was played at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata 10 years back on this day (November 13).

The then-Indian skipper Virat Kohli elected to bat first after winning the toss. Rohit who opened the innings with Anjinkya Rahane made a slow start and took 72 balls to reach his 50. Despite his composed half-century, India were on the back foot after losing the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu.
