Bangladesh failed to replicate their first-innings brilliance of 595 runs, managing to post just 160 in their second innings.

Shakib Al Hasan carried forward his excellent batting display and scored a double hundred. Shakib’s epic knock came to an end at 217 after he was dismissed by Neil Wagner. Later, Sabbir Rahman chipped in with a valuable knock of unbeaten 54.
Responding to Bangladesh’s total, New Zealand scored 539. Tom Latham emerged as the highest scorer for the Kiwis’ in the first innings with 177.
