IPL franchise RCB have announced their new captain for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. They were led by South African Faf du Plessis ever since Virat Kohli stepped away from the role. Now, they will be led by Rajat Patidar.Du Plessis was released by RCB ahead of the mega auctions last year and was subsequently signed by Delhi Capitals. With his departure, they were in a need of a new leader for IPL 2025. Kohli seemed the logical option given he has led the franchise in the past for a significant period. He was considered but the team management says they thought it’s time for a fresh start and Patidar has the qualities to succeed as the leader.
