Rishabh Pant made the young fan’s day at the MCG nets with his simple but adorable gesture.

Rishabh Pant took time from his nets session in Australia to meet and click a photo with a young fan. A video of the adorable gesture has now gone viral on social media and even shared by his new IPL franchise, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
The Indian team is practicing at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) ahead of the Boxing Day Test, which is the fourth of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy and will begin on December 26. There are vantage points over the nets area where Pant met the fan, who was helped to walk by a guardian.
“It’s good to meet you, Rishabh. You are the first cricketer I met close by,” the boy can be heard saying to Pant in the video.
“It was lovely meeting you. I hope you have a lot of fun in your life. Always be happy,” Pant replied.

Pant hasn’t been able to get going in the series so far, scoring just 96 runs at an average of 19.20. He played a crucial role with his first-inning 37 in the Perth Test but hasn’t been able to match or better that score yet.
Skipper Rohit Sharma was asked about his form in the press conference earlier on Tuesday but he firmly backed his player.
“There is no such pressure,” Rohit said. “He has played just three Tests here. He has scored runs in India, has been in good form. If two or three Tests go up and down, too much of judgment is not right. He knows what he has to do… See, as I told you, all these youngsters – Rishabh, [Shubman] Gill, [Yashasvi] Jaiswal, all these youngsters are in the same boat. We don’t want to complicate what they do. They know what they are expected to do.”
“Our job here is to keep talking them about and make them understand small things like match awareness. I don’t think we need to tell them more and complicate stuff. Rishabh knows what he has to do. He has a lot of expectations from himself too. He is certainly working hard. Perhaps we’ll see something good in last two matches,” the skipper added.
