Team India registered a huge win over Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium in UAE on Sunday in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to take a giant step towards the knockout rounds of the tournament.

Virat Kohli led the chase of the target of 242 runs with his 51st ODI ton as he brought up triple figures with a brilliant shot to give the team the win against their arch-rivals as the dugout stood in ovation for the star batter.

Pakistan decided to bat first after Muhammad Rizwan won the toss and the men in green had an opening partnership of 41 runs between Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq before Hardik Pandya sent Azam back to the hut. Imam fell shortly after as he was run out by Axar Patel, before Rizwan and Saud Shakeel stabilised the innings with a triple-digit partnership.

Axar came on to haunt the Pakistanis with the ball as he removed both Rizwan and Shakeel, before Ravindra Jadeja found his way into the thick of things with the scalps of Tayyab Tahir, while Kuldeep sent Salman Ali Agha and Shaheen Shah Afridi back to the hut.

Kuldeep completed his three-fer with the removal of Naseem Shah before Haris Rauf was run out by Axar and Harshit Rana bundled out the Pakistanis with the wicket of Kushdil Shah as Pakistan totalled 241 runs in 49.4 overs.

India were handed a quick start by Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill before the former fell to Afridi. Gill added 46 runs before Abrar Ahmed dismissed him, but Kohli and Shreyas Iyer steadied the innings before the latter fell prey to Kushdil after scoring a half-century.

Afridi got the scalp of Hardik Pandya for 8 runs before Axar and Kohli took India over the line as they chased down the target with 6 wickets and 45 balls to spare.
