Rohit Sharma came in as an impact player for the Mumbai Indians on Thursday (April 17) and scored 26 runs for the Hardik Pandya-led side against Sunrisers Hyderabad. During the IPL 2025 match played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Rohit hammered three sixes for the Mumbai-based franchise. The second six of his innings on Thursday helped him enter his name in the history books and become the second batter to hit 250 sixes for the Mumbai Indians.
In 227 matches played so far for the five-time IPL champions, Rohit has smacked 251 sixes. The overall record of hitting most sixes for MI is held by former West Indies captain and legendary all-rounder Kieron Pollard. Pollard played 211 matches for MI from 2010 to 2022 and scored 258 sixes.

The overall record of hitting the most sixes for one team in the IPL is the name of Virat Kohli. Kohli has played 273 T20 matches for RCB so far and has hammered 296 sixes. He is followed by Chris Gayle, who finished his career with 263 sixes in 91 matches for the Bengaluru-based franchise.

The home team restricted Pat Cummins & Co. to 162 for 5 at the iconic stadium in Mumbai after Hardik Pandya invited them to bat first and then chased down the 163-run target in 18.1 overs for the loss of six wickets.
England all-rounder Will Jacks top-scored for the Hardik Pandya-led side by making 36 runs from 26 balls. He also picked up 2 wickets for 14 runs in three overs, and for his super show with the ball, he also won the Player of the Match award. Apart from Jacks, Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit scored 26 runs each, and with the help of five fours, wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickelton made 31 runs from 23 balls.
