Team India will face Pakistan in the high-voltage Group A match of the Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday, February 23. The match between the two finalists of the 2017 edition is scheduled to take place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium from 2:30 PM IST onwards. Both the teams would like to come up with a big show and get the better of each other. Team India is coming into the contest after winning its Champions Trophy 2025 opener against Bangladesh by 6 wickets on Thursday, and on the other hand, Pakistan went down by 60 runs against New Zealand in Karachi. The Men in Green will be under pressure against India because a defeat can rule them out of the eight-team tournament.

Indian players are in red-hot form these days and there will be high expectations from the likes of Shubman Gill and Mohammed Shami along with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Kuldeep Yadav and others.

Rohit Sharma: 873 runs in 19 matches

Indian captain Rohit Sharma has scored 873 runs in 19 ODIs played so far against the Pakistani team. Among the current players, he is the leading run scorer for Men in Blue in the 50-over format of the game against the Men in Green. In the last ODI played between India and Pakistan on October 14, 2023, Rohit scored 86 runs from 63 balls in Ahmedabad to secure a 7-wicket win for India in the ODI World Cup 2023. Rohit has two centuries and 8 fifties in 19 innings against Pakistan, and his best score is 140 runs.

Shubman Gill: 84 runs in three matches

World No. 1 ODI batter Shubman Gill has scored 84 runs in three ODIs played so far against Pakistan in 2023. During the 2023 Asia Cup Super Four match played in Colombo on September 10, 2023, Gill scored 58 runs against the Babar Azam-led side.

Virat Kohli: 678 runs in 16 matches

With the help of three centuries and two fifties, batting superstar Virat Kohli has scored 678 runs in 16 ODIs against the Pakistani team. Kohli registered his career-best ODI score (183) against Pakistan during the 2012 Asia Cup match played in Mirpur on March 18, 2012, and he also has a century against them in the 2015 ODI World Cup and 2023 Asia Cup. Kohli, who is 15 runs away from completing 14,000 ODI runs would like to come up with a big show on Sunday.

Shreyas Iyer: 67 runs in two matches

In two ODIs played so far against Pakistan, Shreyas Iyer has scored 67 runs. The right-handed batter from Mumbai remained unbeaten on 53 runs from 62 balls in the last ODI match played between India and Pakistan at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14, 2023.

KL Rahul: 187 runs in three matches

KL Rahul has 187 runs to his name in three ODIs against the Pakistani team. The 32-year-old right-handed batter scored 57 off 78 runs in the ODI World Cup 2019 match played at Old Trafford in Manchester on June 16, 2019, 111 from 106 balls in the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four match on September 10, 2023, in Colombo, and an unbeaten 19 from 29 balls in the ODI World Cup 2023 match in Ahmedabad.

Hardik Pandya: 209 runs and 8 wickets in seven matches

In seven India-Pakistan ODIs played so far, Hardik Pandya has scored 209 runs and picked up 8 wickets. He has two half-centuries to his name. Hardik scored 87 runs from 90 balls in the Asia Cup 2023 match played in Pallekele and 76 off 43 balls in the 2017 Champions Trophy final played at The Oval on June 18, 2017.

Ravindra Jadeja: 130 runs and 12 wickets in 12 matches

Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has scored 130 runs and picked up 12 wickets for Team India in 12 ODI matches played so far against the Pakistani team. Jadeja scored his only half-century (52*) against Men in Green in Mirpur on March 2, 2014.

Kuldeep Yadav: 12 wickets and 4 runs in six matches

Kuldeep Yadav has accounted for the dismissal of 12 Pakistani batters in six ODIs played so far. He finished with figures of 5/25 in eight overs during the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four match between India and Pakistan at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Mohammed Shami: 5 wickets in three matches

Shami made his international debut for India against Pakistan in Delhi on January 6, 2013, but since then has only played three ODIs against them. In those three matches, Shami has picked up five wickets. He dismissed four Pakistani batters for 35 runs in nine overs during the 2015 ODI World Cup match played at Adelaide Oval on February 15, 2015.

Axar Patel, Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Washington Sundar are six players from India’s Champions Trophy 2025 squad that are yet to play a 50-match against the Men in Green.
