India’s senior trio of skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will reportedly miss the home white-ball series against England after the ongoing 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. According to Sports Tak, the decision has been made to manage the trio’s workload, although the final call will be made after discussions with the players.
India and England will play five T20Is starting on 22 Jan, exactly 15 days after the last slated day for the Sydney Test of the BGT. The ODIs will then begin on February 6. Rohit and Kohli have already retired from T20Is, while Bumrah will take a break from both rubbers. The ODIs are India’s last bilateral assignment before the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan and the UAE.
