MI’s strongest playing XI for IPL 2025: Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians retained five players for Rs 75 crore and entered IPL 2025 mega auction with purse of Rs 45 crore. MI signed Deepak Chahar for Rs 9.25 crore and added the likes of Mitchell Santner, Will Jacks and Allah Ghazanfar to the squad as well. Trent Boult was also signed by the franchise on Day 1 of the IPL 2025 mega auction and he will lead MI’s pace attack with Jasprit Bumrah.

Rohit Sharma: India’s Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma will open the innings for MI in IPL 2025. He was retained for Rs 16.30 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. In 257 IPL matches played so far for two teams, Rohit has 6628 runs and 15 wickets to his name.
Ryan Rickelton (WK): Mumbai Indians signed South African wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickelton for Rs 1 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The 28-year-old left-handed batter has 2709 runs to his name in 106 T20 matches played so far.
Tilak Varma: MI retained Tilak Varma for Rs 8 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, and he will bat at No. 3 for the Mumbai-based franchise. The left-handed batter has 1156 runs to his name in 38 IPL matches played so far.
Suryakumar Yadav: India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav will bat at No. 4 for MI in IPL 2025. The right-handed batter was retained for Rs 16.35 crore by the five-time IPL champions.
Will Jacks: Mumbai Indians signed England’s batting all-rounder Will Jacks for Rs 5.25 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The right-handed batter was part of RCB in IPL 2024 and scored an unbeaten century against GT in the match played at Narendra Modi Stadium.
Hardik Pandya (C): Hardik Pandya was retained for Rs 16.35 crore by Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction and will lead the franchise in the 2025 edition of the world’s richest franchise cricket league. In 137 IPL matches, Hardik has scored 2525 runs and picked up 64 wickets.
Mitchell Santner: MI signed New Zealand’s spin bowling all-rounder for Rs 2 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Santner has played for CSK in the past and overall has 15 wickets to his name in 18 IPL matches.
Deepak Chahar: Deepak Chahar will play for MI in IPL 2025. The Mumbai-based franchise signed him for Rs 9.25 crore. Chahar has 77 wickets to his name in 81 IPL matches played so far for two teams (RPSG and CSK).
Trent Boult: Trent Boult will open the bowling attack for MI in IPL 2025. The left-arm pacer from New Zealand was signed for Rs 12.50 crore by the Mumbai-based franchise in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Jasprit Bumrah: Jasprit Bumrah is MI’s highest-paid player in IPL history. The 30-year-old pacer was retained for Rs 18 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. He will lead the team’s attack. Since making his debut in the IPL, Bumrah has dismissed 165 batters in 133 matches.
