The third edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is all set to start from February 14. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will feature in the inaugural fixture of WPL 2025. Royal Challengers Bengaluru will kick start their title defence with a game against Gujarat Giants. With Smriti Mandhana handling the leadership duties, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru were crowned champions last year beating the Delhi Capitals. Having finished at the bottom of the standings in the first season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru were desperate to script a comeback in 2024. They could only manage to claim three wins in the first seven group matches last time. In their last game, Royal Challengers Bengaluru got the better of Mumbai Indians by seven wickets to qualify for the play-off. They capped off the league stage at the third spot on the points table. Royal Challengers Bengaluru once again beat Mumbai Indians to advance into the final.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru signed England spin-bowling allrounder Charlie Dean as Molineux’s replacement. Heather Graham and Kim Garth were included in the franchise in place of Sophie Devine and Kate Cross. They have also roped in players like Prema Rawat, VJ Joshitha, Raghvi Bist and Jagravi Pawar at the auction.
