Rajasthan Royals head coach Rahul Dravid, who injured his leg during a cricket match and has been bound to a wheelchair as he recovers, was seen on Tuesday having a heartfelt interaction with some of the Kolkata Knight Riders players ahead of their encounter on Wednesday in Guwahati.

Dravid, a respected figure in Indian cricket, suffered an injury during a Karnataka State Cricket Association league game while playing for the Vijaya Cricket Club.

Despite the injury, Dravid remains involved in Rajasthan’s campaign, displaying his characteristic resilience. Watch the video here:

Meanwhile, the Dravid-coached team will eye sharper and more intuitive captaincy from Riyan Parag against Kolkata.

Outmuscled in their previous games, KKR and Rajasthan will eye a quick course correction in every aspect when they face each other.

The Knight Riders were defeated by seven wickets by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the tournament-opener, while the Royals were given a 44-run drubbing by the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The common theme in those losses was how the powerful batting and bowling units of Kolkata and Rajasthan couldn’t fire.

While the Rajasthan outfit might offer the excuse of playing on a Hyderabad shirtfront for the malfunction of their bowling unit, the Kolkata team don’t have any such cover.

Apart from Sunil Narine, none of the Kolkata bowlers were able to contain free-flowing Bengaluru batters and in that, the demystification of mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy might just worry them a bit.

Even on an Eden Gardens track that had some grip, the star India spinner was given a towel by Phil Salt and ace India batter Virat Kohli.

The Kolkata camp now hopes that Chakravarthy will find his stride on a Guwahati track that has some bite.

Kolkata will keep an eye on the fitness of Anrich Nortje as well, who is recovering from a back strain. If the Protean gets a green signal from the physios, then he will walk in for Spencer Johnson.

Kolkata’s middle-order batting crumbled after captain Ajinkya Rahane and Narine gave them a blistering start, settling for a sub-par score.
