Star Indian batter Shreyas Iyer, who was not included in India’s 18-member squad picked for the upcoming five-match Test series against Australia, registered his best score in First Class cricket on Thursday (November 7) by scoring 233 runs for Mumbai in the ongoing Ranji Trophy Elite Group A match against Odisha. The 29-year-old right-handed batter came out to bat at No. 5 for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC in Mumbai, and during his 228-ball stay at the crease, he hammered 24 fours and nine sixes. He added 354 runs for the fourth wicket with Siddhesh Lad, who was unbeaten on 165 runs from 331 balls at the time of lunch on Day 2.
