No matter the result, Kanpur Test will be remembered for some time to come given how dramatically India put themselves into a spot from where they could force a result from it. The opening day was truncated by rain in Kanpur with just 35 overs bowled and worse was in store as the Day 2 and Day 3 were abandoned due to rain and damp outfield respectively.

With two days remaining and not even a single innings completed, a drawn game appeared to be the likely result before a Bangladesh batting collapse followed by an ultra-aggressive batting from India breathed life into the contest.

While the headlines will be grabbed by the batters and eventually bowlers, former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar has pointed out how the likes of Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal haven’t just shown their terrific skills with the bat but also proven they are ‘exceptional fielders’ too.
