Smriti Mandhana was on fire for India in the third T20I against West Indies, which was played at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Thursday, December 19. The 28-year-old left-handed batter opened the innings for Women in Blue and, with the help of 13 fours and one six, hammered 77 runs from 47 balls. She added 98 runs for the second wicket with Jemimah Rodrigues (39) and 44 runs for the third wicket with Raghvi Bist (31*) to help India post a total of 217 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs.

The target of 218 runs proved too much for the West Indies team, and it went on to lose the match by 60 runs.

Smriti scored a half-century for India in all three matches of the T20I series, which also helped her break legendary New Zealand batter Suzie Bates record of scoring the most 50+ scores in women’s T20Is.
