Smriti Mandhana’s blistering form continues as she lit up the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, smashing her 10th ODI ton in the third ODI against Ireland on Wednesday.

Mandhana went on to score 135 runs off just 80 deliveries, after which was dismissed by Irla Prendergast in the 27th over. But the damage was done already, as the stand-in skipper equalled the record for having hit the most sixes by an Indian in a WODI inning.

The record was first secured by Harmanpreet Kaur during her sensational knock against the Aussies, where she scored an unbeaten 171, which included seven maximums. Mandhana’s knock was a quickfire one and left no stone unturned as India went on to register the fourth-highest WODI total.

While Mandhana went at a rapid pace, her opening partner, Pratika Rawal also took her time and seized the moment to attack the Irish bowling attack as she went on to finish with her highest ODI score of 154 in 129 deliveries. The two went on a rampage against the opposition bowling unit, stitching together a partnership of 233 runs for the opening wicket.

Most Sixes By An Indian Batter In WODIs
Rank Player Name Score Sixes Oppn Year
1 Harmanpreet Kaur 171* 7 AUS-W 2017
2 Smriti Mandhana 135 7 IRE-W 2025
3 Thirush Kamini 113* 4 IRE-W 2017
4 Smriti Mandhana 86 4 ENG-W 2018
5 Richa Ghosh 52 4 NZ-W 2022
6 Harmanpreet Kaur 143* 4 ENG-W 2022
7 Smriti Mandhana 105 3 NZ-W 2019
8 Smriti Mandhana 74 3 WI-W 2019
9 Smriti Mandhana 80* 3 SA-W 2019
10 Pooja Vastrakar 56* 3 SL-W 2021

Rawal’s knock comes in as the third-highest score by a batter in WODIs. Deepti Sharma’s iconic 188-run knock against the Irish and Harmanpreet’s 171 against the Aussies are the two other individual displays that are better than Rawal’s show today.

Interestingly, Rawal’s knock also had as many as 20 boundaries, which makes it the second-highest by an Indian batter in WODIs as well.

Demonstrating her hunger for a bigger knock, she powered her way to an impressive 150, showcasing a perfect blend of composure and aggression.

Their 233-run opening stand made them only the fourth Indian pair to record a 200-run stand in Women’s ODIs.

The last such partnership was the record-breaking 320-run opening stand by Deepti Sharma and Punam Raut against Ireland in 2017.

Despite winning the series, the Indian women’s team looked ruthless, especially when playing on home turf. The question that now remains is if the Irish can put together a fight or if will they crumble to India’s stellar bowling attack.
