An all-round dominant show powered by Trent Boult and Rohit Sharma helped Mumbai Indians ensure that they beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday.
Trent Boult set the tone with the ball as he picked up figures of 4/26, getting rid of the dangerous opening pair of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma in the powerplay and even struck twice in the death overs, getting the wickets of Abhinav Manohar and Pat Cummins as well.
The chase saw Rohit Sharma lead the batting charge for the five-time champions as he scored a fine knock of 70 runs in 46 balls laced with eight boundaries and three maximums to ensure Mumbai finished the chase in quick time.
Eshan Malinga got Rohit’s wicket, but the chase was more or less a formality as Suryakumar Yadav finished off the chase with 4.2 overs to spare.
