Much was said about the heated verbal exchange between Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head during the second day’s play of the pink ball Test in Adelaide. But the Aussie southpaw has come out and revealed that the two have cleared the air regarding the incident.

Siraj during the first innings, got the wicket of Head after scoring 140 runs with an inswinging yorker and had made a gesture to walk back against the Aussie batter. But the Australian international also hit back as the video of the verbal exchange went viral.

Head told in an interaction with ABC News where he revealed that there was a bit of a misunderstanding between the two. A video of the two has also gone viral on social media where Siraj when batting in the second innings was having a calm chat with Head who was stood close by on the third day.

“Sweet with it. He came out and just said (it was) a little bit of misunderstanding … I think we’ll move on. We’ve had a great week, so let’s not let it ruin it. It was fine. He said, ‘Why’d you swear?’ I sort of said, ‘Look, I didn’t at first … (but) I definitely swore at you the second time round’,” Head revealed in the post-match presentation, as quoted by IANS.

Head even admitted that he could have just ignored it, but confirmed that the issue had been settled by the two individuals. The two also shared a hug after Australia sealed the win by 10 wickets.

“I probably could have laughed it off and walked off and enjoyed myself. He just said it was a misunderstanding as well, and there was no issues for me. We move on. I’m sweet. It is what it is,” he added.

Australia levelled the Border-Gavaskar series with the win in the second Test to keep them in the hunt to reclaim the title after a decade. The hosts put in a dominant performance all throughout the Test and got the all-important win in Adelaide.

Now the focus will shift towards the Gabba in Brisbane where both sides will be keen on taking the series lead going into the rest of the series. Australia’s performances will be a bright spot going into the third Test where they hope to continue where they left off.
