Tilak Varma will have a chance to enter his name in the history books on Saturday, November 8, by becoming the youngest Indian batter to score 1000 runs in T20Is. The left-handed batter from Hyderabad, who made his T20I debut against the West Indies in August 2023, is celebrating his 23rd birthday on November 8, and on his special day, he will have a chance to become the youngest Indian to score 1000 runs in T20Is.
So far, no Indian batter has managed to score more than 1000 runs in T20Is before turning 25.
Virat Kohli was 26 years and 331 days old when he joined the 1000-run club in T20Is on October 2, 2015, against South Africa in Dharamsala, and KL Rahul was 27 years and 232 days old when he scored his 1000th run in T20I on December 6, 2019, against the West Indies in Hyderabad.
Tilak has scored 996 runs in 33 innings of 36 T20Is played so far for Team India. He needs to score at least four runs in the fifth India-Australia T20I at The Gabba in Brisbane on Saturday to join the 1000-run club in T20Is.
As of now, 11 players have scored more than 1000 runs in T20Is for the Indian men’s cricket team.

Since making his international debut for India against Zimbabwe in Harare last year, Abhishek has amassed a total of 989 runs in 27 innings of 28 matches, whereas Samson has 995 runs to his credit in 43 innings of 51 T20Is.
Abhishek needs 11 more runs to join the 1000-run club, whereas Samson is five runs away from reaching the four-digit mark.
