Tilak came out to bat at No. 3 for Hyderabad in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy match against Meghalaya and hammered 14 fours and 10 sixes during his stay at the crease.
Tilak Varma is on fire these days. After scoring back-to-back unbeaten centuries for India in the T20I series against South Africa last week, the left-handed batter from Hyderabad scored his third straight century on Saturday (November 23). The 22-year-old came out to bat at No. 3 for his domestic side Hyderabad against Meghalaya in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy match at Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot and hammered 151 runs from just 67 balls.
During his stay at the crease, he hammered 14 fours and 10 sixes. Tilak’s score of 151 is the highest score by an Indian batter in T20s. He broke Shreyas Iyer’s record. Iyer scored 147 runs from just 55 balls for Mumbai during the 2019 SMAT match against Sikkim in Indore.
Thanks to Tilak’s super show with bat, Hyderabad posted a total of 248 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. The left-handed batter, who was retained for Rs 8 crore by Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, added 122 runs for the second wicket with Tanmay Agarwal (55) and 84 runs for the third wicket with Buddhi Rahul (30).
