Trent Boult entered his name in the history books on Saturday by becoming the first player to win four T20 titles with four different teams of the same franchise.

Former New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult entered his name in the history books on Saturday, February 8, by becoming the first player in the world to win four T20 titles with four different teams of the same franchise. Boult, who was part of the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians team that won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title in 2020, won the MLC (Major League Cricket) title with MI New York in 2023, the ILT20 (International League T20) with MI Emirates in 2024, and the SA20 title with MI Cape Town on Saturday, February 8.
Boult picked up two wickets for nine runs in four overs for MI Cape Town against Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the final of SA20 2025 played at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday, and for his super show with the ball, the former New Zealand fast bowler won the Player of the Match award. Boult, who is set to play for Mumbai Indians in the 2025 edition of the IPL after being signed for Rs 12.50 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, played a total of 11 matches for the Rashid Khan-led side in the third season of SA20 and picked up 11 wickets.
Boult, who is one of the best New Zealand bowlers of all time, won his first T20 title with the MI franchise in 2020. In the final of IPL 2020, which was played against Delhi Capitals at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on November 10, 2020, Boult picked up three wickets for 30 runs in four overs, which included a first-ball wicket of Marcus Stoinis.
Boult played 15 matches for MI in IPL 2020 and accounted for the dismissal of 25 batters to finish as the third leading wicket-taker in the season.

In the MLC 2023 final, which was played at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas on July 30, 2023, Boult picked up 3 wickets for 34 runs in four overs to help MI New York restrict Seattle Orcas to 183/9 in 20 overs. In his first season with the MI New York franchise, Boult dismissed 22 batters in eight matches, which was the most by any player in the tournament.
For MI Emirates in ILT20 2024, Boult finished with 16 wickets in 12 matches (3rd leading wicket-taker). In the summit clash against Dubai Capitals on February 17, 2024, Boult dismissed two batters for 20 runs in four overs.
