The tournament witnessed some scintillating cricket from the Indian women who went unbeaten throughout with Trisha emerging as the undoubted star of the side as she collected the Player of the tournament award.
The Indian team retained the women’s U19 World Cup with a nine-wicket win over South Africa on Sunday at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur in awe-inspiring fashion as the women in blue bundled out the Protea women for 82 runs as Trisha Gongadi starred with a three-fer, before chasing down the target successfully in 11.2 overs as Trisha also starred with the bat with an unbeaten 44 runs to seal the deal.

The teenage sensation became the first player to breach the triple-figure threshold in the tournament as she brought up her maiden ton with an unbeaten 110-run knock in the Super Six round against Scotland. She also topped the charts for most runs with 309, at an average of 77.25, second only to compatriot Sanika Chalke who led the averages table with an astounding 95.
Trisha also heads the standings for the most number of fours with an incredible 45 boundaries and came in second with 5 sixes in the maximum table.
Kamalini G boasted the most number of fifties in the tournament as she went past the half-century mark twice.
The bowling charts were ruled by India too as Vaishnavi Sharma’s 17 wickets and Aayushi Shukla’s tally of 14 wickets in the event ranked first and second in the wickets tally. Vaishnavi’s 5/5 against hosts Malaysia registered as the best figures in the tournament. And to boot, Vaishnavi’s performance against Sri Lanka in which she leaked just 3 runs in 4 overs topped the economy charts.
Aayushi led the table for most maiden overs with 4, while also leading the table for the most number of dot balls with 111. Parunika Sisodiya came in second with 86 dots and Vaishnavi third with 83 deliveries.
India did not lag in the overall team stats either as they posted the biggest win of the tournament with their 150-run triumph over Scotland.
